What The Future Holds

The results from Grapplers Quest was outstanding.
Kyle Olsen 1st place
Kailin Rutherford 1st place for the second time in a row.
Alex Miller 2nd place
Stephanie Millhomme 2nd and 3rd place
Jeff Frater 2nd place

In the kids division we only had 5 kids show up to the tournament
and we took 3rd place from 20 other schools for overall top team for
kids. Great Job for the fantastic efforts.

Jeff Frater and Kyle Olsen did another Dog Brothers Gathering
of the Pack Sunday, November 23, 2003. Lets just say Jeff didn't
take second this time around and settle for nothing but first.
In all fairness it was not a competition were you got 1st 2nd or 3rd.
But more for a learning experience by both people who engaged in that
sort of combat.

December 7, 2003 there was a tournament held at Costa Mesa by the Machados. Here are the highlights of the four students that attended.

Alex Miller made a great comeback as he defeated the kids that made him take 2nd. place in Las Vegas. This time around he was on fire taking home the gold in an almost effortlessly fashion. Redemption was his this time around and he worked hard in the studio to make it happen.

Lilly Smith took home the Bronze medal and had a lot of hard competition in front of her. I wonder if they did not have two of my students going at the same time would I have been able to coach Lilly for the win in her bout. If we can only know, but we will get them next time Lilly.

Ricky Smith was fierce with his awesome takedowns and throws. Plus his takedown defense with total control of the ground was enough to baffle his opponents and give him the gold medal as well as astonish big name spectators.

Sterling Beauchamp put out an excellent effort. He fought hard and long and eventually had to have the ref tap for him. Although I felt he was in no trouble the refs do have to think about the children's safety so you can't really argue with that. If anyone knows Sterling he is as tough as they come and hardly taps until he is really in trouble. You got my respects kiddo!
