Martial arts has always had a profound influence on the life of Jeff Frater. Having studied a variety of styles since he was a kid, Jeff found himself most drawn to the effectiveness of Kung Fu San Soo. Through his dedication and talent, he has advanced to an
8th degree Black Belt Master in Kung Fu and now takes great pride in transferring his well-honed knowledge and ability to others.
Jeff began teaching professionally
seven years ago with a company that hired him to coach a mixed array of classes. These classes included Children's Martial Arts and Aerobic Martial Arts. Although an initial challenge, Jeff found himself adapting readily to teaching children. The children were equally taken by him and class size began to grow. He had a similar impact on the aerobic class instruction. It wasn't long before people hired him to personally teach at their their homes and recommended him to their friends.
With this growing commitment to his personal instruction, Jeff felt it was time to set out on his own. He will always have fond memories of his original workplace, but he has no regrets. He sought independence to teach what was required without boundaries. His prior company restricted the knowledge he could share. Jeff felt those limited techniques put his students at a disadvantage. So Jeff went solo – and has since been giving his students an edge in defense, and a higher education in the martial arts.
Jeff has always maintained the philosophy of "Life Without
Limits" and those same ideals have been passed on to his students. Not only
has Jeff trained and coached veterans of King Of The Cage and Pancrase, one
of his students, Kyle Olsen captured the World Vale Tudo title by knocking
out a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt!
Keeping in line with the philosophy that one can always improve no matter how much they advance, Jeff continues to learn the art of Kung Fu San Soo from his Instructor Grandmaster Bill Lasiter. The Knowledge Mr. Lasiter possesses never ceases to amaze Jeff Frater.
