At Jeff Frater's Academy, kids are encouraged to show
up in class twice a week. The option for unlimited training
should be taken with care as not to burn the students out.
It is here that their education begins a long journey of
how to defend themselves. Kicks, punches, leverages and
throws are taught as well as grappling (wrestling). Forms
AKA as Katas are also taught to teach grace of movement,
balance, and coordination. In order for children to move
up in belt rank they need to prove that they learned the objectives of their training.
These Objectives are:
Respect, Courtesy, Responsibility, Humility,
Honesty, Diligence, Obedience and Tolerance.

It is also important that their teachers in school agree
they deserve an increase in belt rank. Manners and
maintaining their education's are a big part of what this
class is all about. Martial Arts has been known to boost
self esteem as well as strengthen the body and the mind. A
big part of Jeff's instruction is to keep on going
communication with the students guardians about their
children's school participation.
